Stingray hires former mayor Coderre as special adviser
Stingray, the Montreal-based multi-platform music and video services provider, announced on Friday that it had hired former Montreal mayor Denis Coderre as a “special adviser supporting Stingray’s business strategy and international development.”
Coderre, who had been in politics federally since 1997 and held several cabinet posts before being elected mayor in 2013, will “lend his expertise to Stingray in the areas of government relations, regulatory advocacy, issues management and strategic planning ... and secure high-level meetings with decision-makers who are vital to Stingray’s domestic and international market expansion.”
In a statement, Stingray CEO Eric Boyko noted the company derives more than half its revenues from international sales and “Mr. Coderre’s experienced leadership and strong reputation in international markets will give Stingray a significant competitive advantage.”
