TRUMP SAYS HE MADE BID SUCCESSFUL
President Donald Trump said he “worked hard” to bring the World Cup to Canada, the U.S. and Mexico in 2026.
He congratulated himself two days after the tournament was awarded.
“Thank you for all of the compliments on getting the World Cup to come to the U.S.A., Mexico and Canada,” Trump tweeted. “I worked hard on this, along with a Great Team of talented people.
“We never fail, and it will be a great World Cup! A special thanks to (New England Patriots owner) Bob Kraft for excellent advice.”
A source close to the United Bid said, “(Trump) played a role” and that it “wasn’t all negative.”
