Uncomplicated underwear

- ALEESHA HARRIS

The product: Chantelle Soft Stretch brief

Why we love it: Few things can put a hitch in your day like poorly fitting undergarments.

From a too-snug pair of panties to a bra that, well, doesn’t lend the level of support you might have expected, underperforming undergarments are uncomfortable, to say the least.

The Chantelle brief is a seamless, stretchy offering that’s part of the larger Soft Stretch line, which is designed to offer “modern lingerie that is uncomplicated” and includes styles such as panties, bralettes, tops and more.

The briefs, which are available in a variety of colours ranging from neutral nude to black, are composed of 80 per cent polyamide and 20 per cent elastane for a comfortable, form-hugging fit. We appreciate the variety of styles on offer in this lingerie range — everything from thongs to more conservative cuts — meaning there’s pretty much a style for every panty preference. The classic brief fits well without being too low rise, and it also lies very well under clothes (no bunching or obvious panty lines here).

The entire Soft Stretch collection is available in one size that is reportedly “suitable for women of all shapes and sizes,” according to the news release. While the one-size-fits-most approach skews more toward sizes XS to XL, there are rumours the brand is working on another size run ranging from 1X to 4X in order to offer a more inclusive option. The price: $22
