Laval police searching for manseenwith murder suspect

-

Laval police are looking for a man who could have information about the killing of a 71-year-old woman on Saturday.

Police circulated new photos of the main suspect in the homicide, Christopher Oliviera, seen in a métro station with another man.

Stéphanie Beshara of Laval police said they are now looking for both men.

Laval police have been searching for Oliviera, who is 31, since Saturday.

He is believed to have killed a woman living on Pacifique Ave. in the Laval-des-Rapides neighbourhood.

On Sunday, police revealed that Oliviera was seen around 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Cartier métro station. He was heading to Montreal.

Beshara said that surveillance cameras caught the suspect with another man shortly afterward. Police have not revealed the specific métro station where the two men were seen together.

“The suspect would have been in contact with an individual in a métro station and would have left with that individual, so now he has become an important witness,” Beshara said. Beshara said that any person who helps the suspect flee or hide could later be accused of being an accomplice.

Police discovered the body of the victim outside of her home Saturday around 2:30 p.m. Her body showed signs of violence. The victim and her alleged murderer had lived together.

Oliviera is six feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

He has several tattoos on his neck, back and chest, as well as a tattoo depicting a star on his left hand and another with a skull and a book on his left arm. He has a scar on the right side of his face. On Saturday, he had a beard and was wearing a black tank top and black pants.
