Warning: This story contains graphic content. A 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy pleaded guilty to child pornography charges on June 27 in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in March.

The girl and the boy were given 15 and 12 months’ probation respectively.

They are not allowed to speak with any of the witnesses or coaccused in the case and are not allowed to use the internet unsupervised by an adult. The judge also ordered them to participate in a sexual education program. Crown spokesperson Jean Pascal Boucher said Friday that the prosecution was satisfied with the guilty pleas.

The two teens who pleaded guilty to child pornography charges were among four — three boys and one girl — arrested in April in connection with the alleged sexual assault in a Montreal North apartment on March 24.

All four originally faced charges of armed sexual assault; sexual assault by more than one person; unlawful confinement; and production, possession and distribution of child pornography. The Crown decided to drop all but the child pornography charges against two of the teens, but the remaining two boys have not had their charges modified. They are set to appear in Youth Court later this summer.

The details of what allegedly transpired on March 24 were revealed in court during a bail hearing for one of the accused in April.

According to an investigator, the 13-year-old met up with a friend at a métro station before going to a party in a Montreal North apartment where no adults were present. At the party, the victim was pinned to a bed while another teen used a banana to penetrate her. The sexual assault was recorded and the videos were later shared among students at four Montreal high schools.

The victim keep silent about what happened, but a distant relative informed his father about the video. The father then contacted the Montreal police.
