Boil-water advisory for St-Bruno, St-Hubert

-

The city of Longueuil has issued a boil-water advisory to citizens in the borough of St-Hubert and the neighbouring city of St-Bruno, which is part of Longueuil’s water-distribution network.

In a statement issued Thursday, city officials said residents in the affected areas were being advised to boil their water for at least one minute because a routine water sampling had detected the presence of E. coli bacteria.

The boil order applies to drinking water, water used for cooking or the washing of produce, water used for ice cubes or for the brushing of teeth.

Hot water from the tap can be used to wash dishes (so long as they are thoroughly dried), wash clothes or to shower or bathe.

Infants and young children should be washed with a wash cloth to avoid their swallowing any water.

The boil order is in effect until further notice. More information can be obtained at the city of Longueuil’s website, longueuil.quebec.
