This is the year Jaguar Land Rover had been looking forward to. The new Jaguar E-Pace premium SUV arrived in March, giving us an even more robust lineup — but that was only the beginning; 2018 is the year when an electric vehicle is no longer a concept or a promise but it is reality. The Jaguar I-Pace and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport PHEV vehicles now are here.

From 2020 onward, all our products will have some type of electrification available and our retail network is ready to meet the demand.

AN ELECTRIFYING PACE: JAGUAR I-PACE & F-PACE SVR

When the Jaguar I-Pace first debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2016, it turned heads and generated more buzz than any concept car in years. Two years later, it is here and the advance word on the vehicle has been overwhelming. Perhaps the best-reviewed Jaguar of all time, the I-Pace has delivered what it promised: eye-catching design, industry-leading range, and mindblowing performance. Coming to showrooms this year, the I-Pace arrives boasting 394 horsepower and a zero-to-100 km/ h time of 4.8 seconds along with a range of over 350 kilometres.

While not electric, the new Jaguar F-Pace SVR is just as exciting as the I-Pace. Jaguar’s most popular vehicle ever, the F-Pace gets the special vehicle treatment with uprated adaptive sports suspension and a supercharged 5.0-litre, 550hp V-8 that gets you moving from 0-100 km/ h in just 4.3 seconds. An improved aerodynamics package improves cooling and reduces lift, and SVR dynamic steering calibration helps to ensure a smooth and controlled experience even while flying around a racetrack where a top speed of 283 km/h is achievable.

A RANGE OF ELECTRIC PRODUCTS: RANGE ROVER & RANGE ROVER SPORT PHEV

The Land Rover brand will embrace the electric movement with both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport being offered as plugin hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV ) with the 2019 model year.

Arriving later this year, the two popular Range Rover models will offer a 50-kilometre electric range and the same style and capability Range Rover owners have come to expect. Both models will be available with a variety of engines: V-6 and V-8 gasoline, V-6 diesel, or as a PHEV. In addition to the new powertrain options, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have new interiors designed around the sleek, minimalist Incontrol Touch Duo infotainment system that made its debut with the Range Rover Velar.

THE ULTIMATE RANGE ROVER: RANGE ROVER SV COUPÉ

Fifty years ago, Land Rover created the luxury SUV segment with the introduction of the Range Rover. Now it’s defining the genre with the world’s first full-size luxury SUV coupe: the limited edition, two-door, Range Rover SV Coupé. The Range Rover SV Coupé is the pinnacle of Land Rover’s “Above and Beyond” mantra mixed with elegant luxury. Available with 557 hp, this 5.0-litre supercharged V-8 is the fastest full-size Range Rover ever, going from zero to 100km/h in just 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 265 km/ h.

The signature floating roof, continuous waistline and tapering tail are instantly recognizable Range Rover DNA, yet are expressed in a unique way for this exclusive addition to the Range Rover family. The purity of the line of the Range Rover SV Coupé is perfectly complimented by its elegant power close doors and frameless glass.

In combination with the panoramic roof, light floods into the cabin accentuating the relaxed sophisticated and contemporary ambience.

For customers looking for a truly curated experience, seven design packages will be available featuring exterior paint, bespoke badges and interior materials specially selected by the Jaguar Land Rover design team. The Range Rover SV Coupé will have a starting price of $335,000.

ADDING TO OUR HISTORY

This year saw the Land Rover brand celebrate 70 years, a remarkable achievement and a testament to the love of the brand that owners and enthusiasts have for every model from the Series 1 to the latest high-performance Range Rover Sport SVR.

Festivities throughout the year, around the world and in Canada have helped remind us that while we have a rich heritage, we also have plenty to look forward to with new products that open new doors and honour the past.

Jaguar and Land Rover added some trophies to its collection by picking up the World Design Car of the Year for the Velar. This is the second Design Car of the Year after the F-Pace took the award in 2017. The Automotive Journalists Association of Canada also awarded the Jaguar XE as best small premium sedan, the F-Type as best premium sports car, and the Range Rover Velar as best small premium SUV.

With awards season upon us again, we anticipate the I-Pace and E-Pace to both perform well and bring home more hardware.
