Groupe Gabriel welcomes Jaguar Land Rover to the West Island
In addition to its three outlets in Laval and Brossard, Jaguar Land Rover has found a new home on the West Island with the Groupe Gabriel. The new dealership is slated to open next summer on St-Jean Boulevard, and will cover more than 70,000 square feet — complete with a showroom, office space and an underground garage — spread over a two-storey building in a high-tech, cutting-edge environment that’s in line with the luxury brand. The Jaguar Land Rover dealership will also create 80 new jobs on the West Island. “We are investing over $20 million and will be demolishing two dealerships to have one large facility,” said Gabriel Azouz, the founder and president of Groupe Gabriel, which opened its first dealership on the West Island in 1987, selling Acura vehicles, and now has more than two dozen showrooms representing 13 different brands throughout the Montreal area. “We’re building for the future, because we’re very optimistic about the future of Jaguar Land Rover and the West Island.” According to Wolfgang Hoffmann, president of Jaguar Land Rover Canada, the expansive, bright new location with high ceilings and glass walls will showcase the luxury vehicles much like gems in a jewelry box. Hoffmann works with the brands’ Canadian dealer network to grow the business that is built around two iconic British car brands with a rich heritage and strong consumer appeal. “Jaguar Land Rover has experienced such a tremendous growth in the last 10 years. The demand is now so strong for our products that we need better representation in the Montreal area,” Hoffmann said. “We need to be closer to our customers, which made it necessary to find an operator on the West Island.” Located on St-Jean Boulevard, next door to the Groupe Gabriel’s new Audi outpost, the Jaguar Land Rover showroom is part of Groupe Gabriel’s plans to optimize and expand its presence in the neighbourhood where it got its start more than 30 years ago.
