Banned song just cute, flirty

Re: “Chilly or not? Revisiting Baby, It’s Cold Outside in a new era” (You, Dec. 6)

The brouhaha over the lyrics of Baby, It’s Cold Outside is ridiculous. As the son of its author has said, his father wrote this duet for him and his wife to perform at parties. It is a cute, flirty song involving two adults who are clearly attracted to each other and don’t want the evening to end. That’s it. I do not take anything regarding sexual misconduct lightly, but to peg this holiday classic as a rape anthem is just wrong and unwarranted. Cynthia Jarjour, St-Lambert
