Top meals? Not for me
Re: “Sentient beings aren’t mere dishes” (Letters, Jan. 5)
Shloime Perel takes exception to the Gazette’s end-ofyear review of top restaurant dishes. I noted the article lists an inordinate number of dishes using foie gras. I would not frequent any restaurant that continues to serve these foie gras meals, given the torturous methods by which the geese are farmed to produce this “delicacy.” There are more enlightened restaurants that actively choose not to put them on their menus and I would rather frequent those establishments that demonstrate compassion and empathy for these unfortunately exploited creatures.
