Same problem, different threat
Re: “Plante in ‘panic mode’ over poor snow-clearing, opposition says” (Montreal Gazette, Jan. 31)
Mayor Valérie Plante’s exhortation to the boroughs to step up efforts on snow removal is a complete contradiction of the much stronger message her administration conveyed to the boroughs last year.
In January 2018, the Plante administration sent a disciplinary letter and threatened Anjou with financial penalties because the borough mayor had proactively, and correctly, initiated snow-removal before it would have been turned into ice.
Perhaps the boroughs are simply complying with last year’s message. Derek Wisdom, Anjou
