The CAQ looks ‘farblondjet’
Re: “Premier has ministers kiss and make up on policy spat” (Montreal Gazette, May 27)
Since the election of the Coalition Avenir Québec, I have been, at turns, furious, flummoxed, fatalistic and fearful when confronted with the party’s policies.
Because my mother told me never to use a certain F-word, I will go with “flabbergasted” in reference to comments made by Justice Minister Sonia LeBel.
When queried about her reactions to Bill 21, she responded: “Now if you ask me to talk about legalities, I will not.”
Huh? She is justice minister. What is her job about if not legalities?
Does this mean Health Minister Danielle McCann should not talk about health?
Perhaps my Yiddish-speaking grandmother had the perfect F-word to describe the CAQ: “farblondjet.”
Here’s the Jewish English Lexicon definition: “Lost ... mixed up, wandering about without any idea of where you are.”
