Meals on Wheels helps clients who are experiencing a loss of autonomy stay in their homes by breaking isolation and providing delicious, nutritious meals. We are looking for a shopper in Dorval and drivers in Dollard or Beaconsfield who can commit to one Tuesday or Thursday per month.
Bread Basket Lake St. Louis is looking for volunteers at their non-profit produce market that takes place in the Cloverdale area every Friday until Sept. 25 from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. Ages: 18+.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters hold their Montreal RibFest at Pierrefonds City Hall Aug. 16, 17 and 18 and MANY volunteers are needed who can work in four hour shifts either morning, afternoon, or evening. There are jobs for everyone — greeting guests, information booth, serving beverages and promoting items, runners, clearing tables, game animators, selling tickets and more. Ages 16+.
In preparation for the Parkinson Canada Superwalk happening at the John Abbott campus on Sept. 8, registration is now being held and volunteers are needed to help with setup, registration, handing out of T-shirts, food, etc. Ages 16+.
The 7th edition of the Lachine Bonneville Half-Marathon to benefit the Montreal Island Alzheimer Society will be held Aug. 18, and volunteers are being recruited now. Positions include: Traffic official, medals ceremony, water stations, registrations. Ages 12+.

They need: An easygoing French and Arabic-speaking Dollard woman in her 70s would love to share her time with a female volunteer who can visit her at home. She has some mobility issues but would love to go for walks when the weather is nice. A Greek-speaking Dollard resident in her 80s would enjoy sharing some time with a compassionate female volunteer who can visit her at her residence. She has strong family values and is a very resilient lady who lived through the war.
A quiet Italian and French-speaking Pierrefonds man in his 80s would benefit from a caring male volunteer who could take him out on social outings for coffee or to help him run simple errands. He has a small dog, a great sense of humour and a lovely smile. A French-speaking Pierrefonds couple in their 80s would benefit from a kind-hearted volunteer who could accompany them to run some errands or visit them at home to break their isolation. They would enjoy sharing meaningful conversation, a cup of coffee, or even go for walks.
