Checklist of West Island and Off-island events cancelled or postponed

In a bid to slow the spread of the novel coronaviru­s, Quebec this week cancelled any gatherings that would attract more than 250 people. Here is a partial list of what is open and closed on Montreal's West Island and the adjacent Vaudreuil-soulanges region.

OPEN

■ Grocery stores and pharmacies are open. Most retail stores are open.

■ Société des alcools du Québec outlets are open, but wine tastings in stores have been cancelled.

■ Public transit, including the métro system, buses and commuter trains are operating as usual, though with increased cleaning.

■ Movie theatres, fitness centres, buffet restaurant­s and bars are to remain closed until March 30, under a government directive.

■ Thrift Shops for NOVA will keeps its West Island stores closed until further notice.

■ The West Island based Festival de la voix has postponed its planned concerts and workshops.

■ The West Island Women's Centre forum planned for March 21 has been postponed.

CLOSED OR CANCELLED

Beaconsfie­ld: Municipal facilities including the library, recreation centre, Centennial, Herb Linder annex and park chalets are closed. City hall and the public works building remain open, but residents are urged not to visit them unnecessar­ily.

Baie D’urfé: All events or public consultati­ons are suspended until further notice, as well as activities at the library, the Red Barn and Fritz Community Centre.

Dollard-des-ormeaux: The areas Aquatic Centre, Fitness Centre, Cultural Centre, Community Centre (Seniors Club), reception halls, conference rooms, library and park chalets are closed until further notice. Municipal services will be maintained by phone and online.

Dorval: The Dorval Aquatic and Sports Complex, the Sarto-desnoyers Community Centre, the Surrey Aquatic and Community Centre, the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre, the Dorval Library, the Westwood Sports Centre, the Dorval Arena and the Dorval Museum of Local History remain closed. All activities in these buildings are suspended until further notice. Municipal services will be maintained by phone and online.

Hudson: The Hudson Players Club has postponed its presentati­on of The Full Monty. The St. Patrick's parade has been postponed. The community centre, town hall and fire station remain open, but anyone with virus symptoms — fever, cough, breathing difficulti­es — is asked to not go to them. The urban planning department is not open to the public. Citizens are asked to call to make an appointmen­t at 450-458-5347, ext 0.

Île-perrot: The town hall, fire station, community centre and library are closed to the public. They remain open for deliveries. All sports and cultural activities organized by the town are cancelled. And all activities planned in town buildings by outside organizati­ons are cancelled. Residents may pay the second instalment of their municipal taxes, due April 14, at their bank or by cheque. The cheque should be put in a sealed envelope and put in the deposit box at the right of the main doors to the town hall. Please indicate if you would like a receipt.

L’île-bizard–sainte-geneviève borough: The library, Centre socio-culturel, Salle Madeleine-lahaye and the Vincent Lecavalier pavilion are closed. Free skating at the St-raphaël sports centre is cancelled. The service points in Île-bizard and in Ste-geneviève remain open.

Kirkland: The library, sports complex (arena and gymnasium), and all park chalets are closed. Also closed is the Benito Rossi Social Centre and the 55+ Club. The Town Hall and Public Works building remain open, but residents are asked not to go to them unless absolutely necessary.

Notre-dame-de-l’île Perrot: The library and all sports facilities are closed March 14 and 15.

Pincourt: Activities at the library, Omni-centre, indoor park at the Faubourg de l'île and Cité-desjeunes arena are suspended until April 5. The Recreation and Community Services administra­tion will be maintained for emergencie­s.

Pointe-claire: The Aquatic Centre, arena and library are closed. Also closed are: Stewart Hall Cultural Centre, Noël-legault Community Centre, the recreation building, the nautical activities building, and all park chalets. All gatherings for sports, cultural and community activities are cancelled until March 30. The City Hall and Inspection-municipal Garage buildings remain open, but people with cold or flu symptoms are asked to refrain from going to them. The administra­tive offices and public works yards remain open.

Ste-anne-de-bellevue: As of March 17, the city hall will be open to the public only from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday to Friday. The library, Centre Harpell and park chalets are closed. All activities that take place in those buildings are cancelled.

St-lazare: The library is closed. Members are invited to renew their documents online or put them in the drop-off chute at the library. Park chalets are closed, as is the L'ado'zone. Municipal yards, the community centre and the fire station are open only for deliveries and by appointmen­t. Access to the town hall is limited. Residents are asked to use email or call for appointmen­ts.

Vaudreuil-dorion: The city has closed its library as well as the Cité-des-jeunes swimming pool, Maison Félix-leclerc, Opticentre St-jean-baptiste, Jean-marc Ducharme Community Centre and the arena. The Centre Multisport­s is also closed until further notice.
