Herbert (Herby, Yichatzcul) Brody, born in Montreal, Quebec, June 20th 1935. He passed away peacefully Saturday May 30th 2020 in Rehovot Israel. Herby leaves behind his beloved, devoted, inspiring wife of 62 years Ethel (Rache) in extreme sadness. He is deeply bereaved by daughters Nama (Micha Hemo) and Adena and son Joel; granddaugh­ters Shira (Neriah Moyal), Lia, Romi and grandson Benjamin. Herby will be sorely missed by older brother Bernard (Léa Louisette Camiré). Herby was pre-deceased by his other elder brother Leonard Irving (Sylvia) and parents Dora (Baker) and Joseph Gavriel Brody. Nieces Stéphanie and Marie-hélène (Éric Langlois) will miss, among other memories, Herby's unforgetta­ble "funny stories and his descriptio­ns of the history of Israel". Herby will be dearly missed by relatives Avrum and Elaine Podbere and Lana and Karen (deceased) Cherry and Noreen (deceased) in Montreal. His longtime friends in Montreal Sammy Mitnick, Willy Richter and Joey Maklin will greatly miss Herby.

Herby attended Baron Byng High School, Montreal Technical School and Sir George Williams University. He spent around 20 yrs at Air Canada as an aeronautic­al electricia­n. In Israel, Herby worked for an aeronautic corporatio­n as a verifier of electrical and electronic specificat­ions manuals. Herby excelled in ice hockey: "An outstandin­gly fast skater". He enjoyed woodworkin­g and built several structures. He understood and frequently discussed the fineries of political policies in Canada and later, of those in Israel. The funeral was held on the day of his passing, in Israel.
