OTT, Ulrich (Ueli)

1940 - 2020

Ueli passed away peacefully on June 25, 2020 in Montreal, with his wife Cheryl by his side. Immigrating to Canada from Switzerland in May 1961, with his good friend Heinz Bury, Ueli started his career in the car business with Volkswagen that same year. In 1978 he joined Toyota Canada as a dealer Principal until his retirement in 2017. Ueli loved spending his summers in St. Donat and winters in Siesta Key, as well as traveling with Cheryl to destinations far and wide. Annual trips to his beloved Switzerland were a top priority. He was an avid soccer fan and followed his hometown team, FC Aarau religiously. Ueli enjoyed playing tennis and had a mean backhand! Ueli is survived by his brother Walter (Olga, Davor), his daughter Kirsten and son Stefan (Alina) his Grandchildren Emma, Markus and Domenic. As well as Cheryl’s family, Nigel (Karen), Christopher (Sheila) and Natalie (Mark) also his step-grandchildren Ayden, Leslie, Alistair, Oliver, Maya, Leah and William. They all loved their Opa and will miss him tremendously. Ueli will be remembered, by all who knew him, for his kind, gentle and generous ways. He most certainly was the rock we could all count on.
