ASH, Christine Laura

1965-2020

-

Christine Laura Ash, loving wife of Douglas Delaney and adored mother to Allison and Connor Delaney, passed away at Providence Care Hospital, Kingston, on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. Her husband of 30 years and her two children, the very lights of her life, were with her when she went to her rest after a three-year battle with cancer. Christine was born in Ottawa, Ontario to Léo Ash and Ida Ash (nee Martin) on May 12, 1965. Her family moved to Belleville, Ontario in 1971 and, seven years later, to Pointe-claire, Quebec, where she met and began dating Doug in 1980. Their forty-year love story started when they were both just fifteen years old. After Christine completed her BA in Economics at Concordia University in 1990, they married and set out together on a number of army postings that included Victoria, Petawawa, Calgary, Edmonton, and Kingston. Allison was born in 1992, Connor in 1994. Christine was and still is the very heart of our family, the centre of our existence. She raised two wonderful children and she filled every house we ever had with fun and love. We are who we are because of her, and so much the better for it. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the Regional Paramedic Program for Eastern Ontario and she has scores of best friends all over the country. Christine is survived by her husband Doug, her children, Allison (Brandon) and Connor (Mitchell), her sister Renée (Keith), and her parents Léo (Pauline) and Ida (George). She was predeceased by her sister Natalie. A celebration of life-with lots of George Michael and Depeche Mode will take place as soon as COVID-19 restrictions will allow a suitable gathering. G’night, Mumma.
