Joe Schwarcz is a Montreal tradition
Re: “Four decades of demystifying science” (Joe Schwarcz, Aug. 1)
It was refreshing to open the page and see Joe Schwarcz in an Aislin cartoon.
Lots of people know Dr. Joe, but some Montrealers still don’t. A humble and approachable man, he has been volunteering at the Côte-stluc Library for years.
I sent him an email to ask him to speak at the Jewish General Hospital during National Nutrition Month. He quickly replied and said sure. That’s the kind of person he is. He stands up against quacks. He is a Montreal tradition, like bagels and smoked meat.
Congratulations to him on 40 years of sharing knowledge, being a voice of reason and someone we can trust. Montrealers are lucky to call Dr. Joe ours.
