It is with heavy hearts we announce that our cherished "Papa Jacques" - Jacques Panet-raymond passed away September 15, 2020 at the age of 100. He left behind to mourn his loving partner Lucie Boulianne, his son Dr. Giles P. Raymond (Pamela), his granddaughters Christine Panet-raymond (Scott Jackson), Dr. Valerie Panet-raymond (Dr. Paul Giacomini) and his beloved great-grandchildren Olivia Jackson, Katherine and Jack Giacomini, his brother François (Lizette) and many cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as Cathie and Carolyn Leccese, daughter and granddaughter of Lucie. Predeceased by his wife Louise Masson, and Magdeleine Lippens Giguère, his parents Boisdoré Panet-raymond and Lizette Painchaud, his siblings Guy (Andrée), Bernard (Hélène), Pierre (Ann), Madeleine (Ted), Charles (Lyne), Aline (Rodolphe) and André (Pat). After graduation from Collège Jean-de-brébeuf (B.A.), he served with pride as a Lieutenant in the Canadian Army from 1942-1945. He then worked in various administrative positions at GM, National Brewery and finally Texaco/esso Imperial Oil. He became their Executive Public Relations representative in Ottawa before his retirement. He loved many sports. including ski-jumping, fishing, hunting, curling in TMR, swimming, golfing (Royal Ottawa) and especially sailing in his beloved North Hero, Vermont on Lake Champlain and St-pete’s Beach, Florida. Papa Jacques will be remembered as a proud, loving gentleman, father and grandfather, a "raconteur" who enjoyed jokes, and a "Bon vivant" who loved, laughed, traveled and led a full and wonderful life. It was indeed a privilege and joy to have known him. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Montreal Neurological Institute and the Centre d’accueil Marcelle Ferron in Brossard for their exceptional care and support. A private celebration of his life will be held in the future following the interment of his ashes at the National Field of Honour in Pointe Claire.
