SCHMIDT, Tante Anita Franziska (Merkel)

January 11, 1928 - September 14, 2020

It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of Tante Anita on September 14, 2020 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. Anita Franziska Merkel was predeceased by her beloved husband Hugo Schmidt (2014) sister Katharina (late Paul Eggmann) brother Willy Merkel (Monique Sirois) and brother-in-law Heinz Schmidt and nephews Werner and Michael Schmidt (Susanne), Peter Merkel and sisters-in-law Rose and Ria Schmidt. Tante is survived by her niece Jutta (Klaus Baumgart), Renate Merkel, nephews Ronnie Merkel and Maximillian and Sebastian Schmidt as well as friends and extended families in Canada and Germany. Tante was a determined and a strong-minded person that loved life. She was very detailed and a perfectionist in every way who loved her home and garden and especially her roses.

Tante lived life own her own terms right to the end!
