MILLIE LUTTER

-

Your quiet strength embraced all of us and through you we felt connected and strong. You and Dad were the foundation of our family, sustaining us in times of joy and in times of difficulty. And together, you provided your daughters with a secure and loving home and one which was the envy of all our friends. Completely selfless, you gave so much and asked for so little. You cared so deeply for all of us. You loved us unreservedly and unconditionally. You were profoundly interested in every aspect of your children’s and grandchildren’s lives. You shared in their triumphs and their disappointments. Your worries were large and small, but they all came from one place, from love. You and Dad forged a relationship carved out of affection, mutual respect and extraordinary devotion for 64 wonderful years. 5675 was the center and your kitchen, the hub for our family and friends. And here, the world became a very safe place. Your heart was inclusive. You welcomed everyone into your home. You lived your life with style and beauty, you were aristocratic but not a snob. Your extraordinary physical beauty was matched only by your inner radiance. The prism of your life was pure, as radiant, as multifaceted as a precious stone. And while you loved beautiful things, your home, your garden and fine clothing, what you loved more than anything in the world was your family. You bore your life with dignity, grace and uncommon good sense, and we, your family, bear your loss with unbearable sorrow. Your tragic and unnecessary death has changed our lives in ways that are immeasurable. And while our hearts are broken, and our sorrow for having lost you, ineffable, we were privileged to have had you. We honour your memory and the joy you & Dad brought to our lives.
