Major work planned for Highways 15, 720

Another weekend of major roadwork is upon us.

Key road closures in the Montreal area will affect northbound Highway 15 between Nuns' Island and De La Vérendrye Blvd., and Route 136/eastbound Highway 720 between the Turcot Interchang­e and the Ville-marie tunnel. Motorists should try to avoid these areas. Highway 15:

Northbound Highway 15 will be closed at the end of the Samuel-de Champlain Bridge, between Exit 58 and the entrance to De La Vérendrye Blvd, from 1 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

Default closings include eastbound Highway 10 (Bonaventur­e) between Exit 4 (Gaétan-laberge Blvd.) and Nuns' Island; Exit 57-N on southbound Highway 15;

Route 136/Highway 720:

Route 136/eastbound Highway 720 will be closed between the Turcot Interchang­e and the entrances to Notre-dame West and de la Cathédrale Sts. in the Ville-marie tunnel from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Motorists should note that the entrance from Notre Dame St. W. and de la Cathédrale St., and from westbound Highway 10/Robert-bourassa Blvd. will be closed Saturday between 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

Default closures in the Turcot Interchang­e include the ramps leading from southbound Highway 15 and eastbound Highway 20 to Route 136/eastbound Highway 720; The ramp leading from northbound Highway 15 to Route 136/eastbound Highway 720; The entrance ramp leading from Pullman Blvd. to Route 136/eastbound Highway 720; and the reserved lane on eastbound Route 136 leading to Atwater Ave.

St-pierre Interchang­e:

The ramp leading from westbound Highway 20 to westbound Route 138 (toward the Mercier Bridge) will be closed from 3:30 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Champlain Bridge:

Two of three lanes on the bridge will be closed in the direction of the South Shore from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
