Dancing OK at weddings if alcohol is not served

-

A few days after the launch of the vaccine passport, Quebecers still have questions about how it will affect various aspects of their lives — including weddings.

For the time being, a vaccine passport is not required to enter places of worship, according to the Quebec government's website. However, Health Minister Christian Dubé this week warned that may change.

When asked to clarify whether this also applies to weddings, Health Ministry spokesperson Robert Maranda explained: “The vaccination passport is not required for wedding receptions. However, several measures continue to apply for this type of event, including the limit of 25 people indoors and 50 outdoors.”

As for dancing at weddings, it's permitted — “unless alcohol is being sold or consumed on site, as is currently the case in bars,” Maranda said. Additionally, when dancing, “a distance of one metre is required between people who do not live at the same address.”
