Hollywood home hits the market
House featured in This Is Us listed for more than $2M
This is good news for This Is Us fans. The house where Madison (Caitlin Thompson) and Kevin (Justin Hartley) lived before splitting up on the NBC drama is up for sale. Built in 1920, with an addition tacked on in 2000, the single-storey Craftsman is located in the Spaulding Square neighbourhood of Los Angeles. The owners are asking US$2,195,000, Dirt.com reports.
The exterior is charming with a white picket fence, porch and vine-covered clapboard facade. We only see that exterior on the series — and briefly, at that — since the interior shots are filmed on a sound stage in Hollywood. Production designer Gary Frutkoff loosely modelled it on the Craftsman's real interior, though.
Spread over its 1,817 square feet are three bedrooms and two baths, with open and bright spaces throughout. Many original details remain, like broad crown moulding, hardwood flooring and French doors. Other features include an updated kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, an office/den area and a laundry room.
The backyard of 1357 N. Orange Grove Ave. measures 0.17 acres and appeared regularly in the fifth season of This Is Us, since it was an ideal place to safely shoot outdoors. The sixth and final season will air early in 2022.
