One dead, two injured in separate overnight Montreal stabbings
Two armed assaults injured three people in Montreal. Montreal police said a 911 call around 1:45 a.m. Saturday reported an armed assault on Sherbrooke St., near Mansfield St., in the Ville-marie borough. Patrollers found two men ages 20 and 23 stabbed. The suspect had fled in an unknown direction. The 23-year-old later succumbed to his injuries. . SPVM spokesperson Véronique Dubuc said the other victim also has an injury, but police do not fear for his life. A little earlier, around midnight, another armed attack had occurred on St-laurent Blvd., near de l'arcade St., in the Mile End sector. According to the first information gathered by the police, there was an altercation between at least two individuals. The victim, a 19-year-old man, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
