Queen's Gambit won't return

The Queen's Gambit creator Scott Frank has ruled out a second season of the show, which won 11 of the 18 awards it was nominated for at the Emmys on Sunday. In the Emmy press room, a reporter asked Frank about the future of the show. “I'm so sorry. I hate disappointing anyone, but no,” he said. “I feel like we told the story we wanted to tell, and I worry — let me put it differently — I'm terrified that if we try to tell more, we would ruin what we've already told. I'll never say never, but I feel so good about what we did, I would hate to soil the memory.”
