Caution! First roadwork blitz of autumn set for this weekend

As fall begins, construction crews appear to be fanning out across Montreal for a weekend blitz of roadwork. As a result, there are a lot of small closures all around the island that could cause traffic congestion (all closures are until 5 a.m. Monday unless otherwise specified):

HIGHWAY 25

The Louis-hippolyte-la Fontaine

Tunnel is closed northbound, from Exit 90 of Highway 20 on the South Shore (R-132, La Prairie, Varennes) to the entrance from Yves-prévost Blvd. Drivers can take the Jacques-cartier Bridge as a detour. Access to Charron Island from the South Shore is maintained via vehicle escorts from Marie-victorin Blvd.

Southbound, one of three lanes are also closed between Sherbrooke St. E. and Souligny Ave.

MERCIER BRIDGE

One span of the Mercier Bridge is closed. The remaining span has one lane in each direction. As a result, the entrance from Airlie St. to Route 138 West is also closed.

ST-PIERRE INTERCHANGE

The ramp for Route 138 West from Highway 20 West is closed, and the ramp for Route 138 West from the eastbound 20 has one lane out of two available.

BONAVENTURE EXPRESSWAY

Highway 10 is closed in both directions between Wellington St. and the Victoria Bridge until Saturday at 8 a.m. After that, two out

of three lanes will be closed in the same spot from Saturday at 8 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.

ÎLE-AUX-TOURTES BRIDGE

The eastbound bridge (coming from Vaudreuil-dorion) is closed. It will reopen Saturday at 7 a.m. and close again from 10 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday.

SOURCES BLVD.

The entrance to Highway 20 West from Sources Blvd. in Pointeclaire is closed until mid- October.

Other closures include: St-jacques

■ St. from Mansfield St. to Robert-bourassa Blvd.

■ Métropolitain Blvd. (Highway 40 service road) eastbound in St-léonard from Viau Blvd. to Millet St., until Sunday at 10:30 p.m.

■ The Atwater Ave. entrance for Highway 15 South.

■ The entrance to the eastbound Highway 40 at Lucerne/ste-croix in Town of Mount Royal/st-laurent.

■ On Nuns' Island, the entrance to Highway 15 North from Jacquesle Ber St./rené-lévesque Blvd.

■ In St-henri, St-antoine St. W. between Atwater and Greene avenues until Thursday at 7 a.m.

■ Off-island in Ste-julie, Nobel St. eastbound between Principale St. and Rang de l'église.
