Nissan reveals Canadian pricing for 2023 Ariya EV

- JAY KANA

Nissan Canada has released Canadian pricing for the 2023 Nissan Ariya.

The automaker's first all-electric crossover will start at $52,998, and will be offered with either frontwheel drive or E-4ORCE (Nissan's electric all-wheel-drive system) and a choice of a long range (87 kilowatt hours) or standard range (63-kwh) battery.

The Ariya will come in six trim levels, starting with the frontwheel-drive Engage with the 63-kwh battery at the base suggested retail price. Next up is the Evolve, starting at $60,598, which houses the same standard battery, but comes with all-wheel drive (E-4ORCE). If AWD isn't as important as the larger battery, the Venture+ trim comes with front-wheel drive and the 87-kwh battery for $1,100 less than the Evolve. Then, there's the Evolve+ ($64,998), Platinum+ ($69,198), and top Premiere trim ($69,998).

On the high end, Nissan claims the Ariya offers up to 490 kilometres of range, and delivers between 214 and 389 horsepower, depending on trim.

“The Nissan Ariya is an important part of our Ambition 2030 goals to drive electrified mobility for all,” said Ken Hearn, director of marketing at Nissan Canada. “Ariya is a fully equipped all-electric crossover at an accessible price point, allowing Canadian customers to experience a seamless transition to driving electric.”

All Ariya models include Nissan Safety Shield 360, PROPILOT Assist with Navi-link, and a 12.3-inch centre display with wireless Apple Carplay and wired Android Auto.

Deliveries are expected to start in late fall for FWD models, and early 2023 for AWD models.
