Essex County heads to TV

Molly Parker will headline a limited TV series adaptation of Jeff Lemire's graphic novel Essex County. The show, unfolding in five hourlong episodes, also stars Brian J. Smith, Stephen Mchattie, Finlay Wojtak-hissong and Kevin Durand. The story follows two intertwined families in a rural community. “The series explores how loss, betrayal and trauma can impact generations and how redemption can be found through human connection,” says a press release. Commissioned by CBC, and made in association with ITV Studios and Media Musketeers Studios, the show debuts on CBC and CBC Gem in winter 2023.
