Fun and Fundraising with Rotary Corporate Challenge
Doug Trithardt is a Rotarian, he plays pool now and then and in his day job, he is a chartered Accountant with Benson Trithardt Noren (BTN). “I really look forward to two fun events every year,” said Trithardt. “One of them is the night we go as a company to play pool at Dooly’s Billiards & Lounge, and the other is Dooly’s Rotary Corporate Challenge.” There were lots of reasons the Corporate Challenge was fun. There were 26 teams in three divisions: a competitive group with seasoned players, another contingent for regular pool players and a third division for those who seldom pick up a cue.
Trithardt said, “What really makes it interesting is the ‘Scotch Double’ format. Regardless of the division you’re in, it’s always alternate shot. That way, no one dominates. You make your play and hand over the cue. This gets everyone involved and it’s a wonderful equalizer. In the competitive division, you have to name your shot, but at the other two levels, flukes still count.” Trithardt teamed with his daughter, Jackie Ludke. They paid $50 for their time at the
