The 8th An­nual Moost­le­toe Artists Stu­dio Tour will take place on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fol­low the signs around Moose Jaw to see some of your fa­vorite artists as they show­case some of their best work. “We will have a new stop this year and wel­come pot­ter Beth Bar­rett to the Tour. You are in­vited to visit artists’ stu­dios and gal­leries, meet the artists and en­joy some early Christ­mas shop­ping dur­ing our pop­u­lar self-drive tour around Moose Jaw,” said co­or­di­na­tor Mon­ica DeCampo.

While at your first stop, pick up a pass­port, get a stamp at each stop and leave your card at your last stu­dio visit for a chance to win a gift bas­ket filled with hand­made art from all the artists in the tour. This bas­ket is val­ued at around $250.

Wendy and Zach at the Par­sons Di­et­rich Pot­tery will greet you at their stu­dio in the his­toric church on Trans-Canada 1 with a well-stocked show­room and stu­dio; re­mem­ber to pick up a pass­port while adding to your col­lec­tion. Visit Bry­sen Bert of Steady Me­tal­works in the East side just off Cari­bou East at 822 Sny­der Road. His one-of-akind me­tal art, cus­tom rail­ings, and the pop­u­lar unique steel roses and a talk on the art of weld­ing awaits you! Sun­ning­dale brings you Mon­i­cats Stu­dio lo­cated at 40 Wood Lily Drive. Mon­ica will re­tire to the Mar­itimes soon. Make sure you pick up some of her colour­ful porce­lain func­tional pot­tery. The fea­tured item this year is her over­sized pie dishes. Drive to 128 Blue Sage Drive around the cor­ner to en­joy the whim­si­cal oil paint­ings of ever so pop­u­lar Laura Hamil­ton along with colour­ful pil­lows, bags, cal­en­dars, and cards fea­tur­ing her de­light­ful cre­ations. These gifts would make won­der­ful stock­ing stuffers. Re­turn­ing to the tour this year is Bill Keen Me­tal Sculp­tures, lo­cated in his new stu­dio at 127 Ca­lypso Drive. Brand new trea­sures await his fol­low­ers!

Re­turn to the Av­enues to meet new­comer Beth Bar­rett Pot­tery at 1211 5th Ave NW where she will share her pas­sion to make lovely func­tional pot­tery. Down­town brings you to Yvette Moore Gallery where you can meet award-win­ning artist Yvette Moore and pe­ruse her paint­ings, il­lus­trated books, prints and en­joy the work of sev­eral Saskatchewan artists rep­re­sented in the Gallery. (Lunches are avail­able in the Gallery Café — reser­va­tions a must!)

Visit the Moose Jaw Mu­seum and Art Gallery Gift Shop next to the li­brary and meet fea­tured guest jew­elry artist Caro­line Betker and shop from the Gallery’s large se­lec­tion of work from Saskatchewan artists.

Pro­ceed to South Hill where on 4th Av­enue you will meet glass artist Brenda McLaugh­lin and mu­ral­ist Grant McLaugh­lin at M&M glass Stu­dio. Re­serve your spot for one of her classes and shop from her large col­lec­tion of well-made stained glass items.

You can start your tour in South Hill, Down­town or on the north side at Par­sons Di­et­rich Pot­tery. All stops will have maps, pass­ports, and some re­fresh­ments. Fol­low the Moost­le­toe signs and en­joy a day of art and that guilty plea­sure, Re­tail Ther­apy!
