BARBARA JANMAN
Born in southern Alberta, then raised on a pioneer homestead in southern Saskatchewan, Barbara returned to the West in 1963 to finish business college in Calgary. In addition to her entrepreneurial career in the human-resources staffing industry, she has a creative side. She was the first Canadian and first woman to be awarded Intermediate International Carver of the Year in 2010. In her retirement, she has created a series of travel journal activity books about Canada, for all age groups. Find out more about her travel books in this issue’s Showcase on page 40.
