Popping with Pride

What a nice surprise I got while visiting my daughter Holly Howat recently. She had written a lovely story, “Eva’s Popcorn Stand” (July 2018), about my mom, Eva Mcnaught. Holly wanted it to be a surprise for my 80th birthday and it really was. I spotted it in her copy of the magazine—which she’s bought me a subscription for. What a lovely birthday gift. It’s a story that our whole family, as well as the hundreds of people who knew my mom as the “popcorn stand lady,” will shed a tear over while reading it. Thanks to Holly for the great job writing it, and to More of Our Canada for publishing it.
