POLAR BEAR HABITAT

Did you know that the one and only human-care facility in the world dedicated solely to polar bears is in Canada? Yes, indeed. The Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat, located in Cochrane, Ont., provides sanctuary to polar bears that have been orphaned, rescued or moved from other facilities. Offering a habitat that is as close to the bears’ natural environment as possible, this research and education centre also helps people learn about the care and conservation of polar bears. The Learning Centre is the focal point of the habitat, where you can watch the bears swim in their pool through an observation window, and explore interactive exhibits to learn more about them.
