More of Our Canada

No Place I’d Rather Be

- Brittney Lalonde, Fort Mcmurray, Alta.

Colours in the sky, so magical and bright. So much beauty in our country on this cold, winter night.

Dancing and shining, putting on a show, those northern lights, giving off a magic glow.

Lights as red as ember, and green like our pine tree, wintertime in Canada, there’s no place I’d rather be.

Snowflakes sparkling as they float to the ground, the snow crunching under my feet, oh how I love that sound.

Snow-covered trees, swaying with absolute grace, the crisp winter air puts a smile on my face.

Crystal ice spears so simple but stunning, but when they start to drip, you know spring is coming.

When winter turns to spring, some are sad to see it go, there’s beauty in our country for every season, though.

Dancing and shining, putting on a show, those northern lights, giving off a magic glow.

Lights as red as ember, and green like our pine tree, wintertime in Canada, there’s no place I’d rather be.
