BIO: Since joining the college in 2010, Jodi Abbott has grown its programming, initiated its largest campus expansion project and unveiled innovative new partnerships, such as the Alberta Aboriginal Construction Career Centres, thereby greatly enhancing the college’s brand recognition.

BREAKING BARRIERS: “In my first vice-president role, I was asked by the president (a man) to serve coffee to the executive team. I handled this by suggesting they help themselves. I have taken this into my leadership roles by never sitting in the ‘head’ seat, to demonstrate that all members of the team are leaders.”

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE WOMEN: “…focus on the outcomes they have achieved and communicate them proudly.”

STAYING AHEAD OF EMERGING TRENDS: “I speak with and listen to individuals who are a ‘little off the wall’ or seen as having unique ideas.”
