There are two sides to retail — buying and selling — and Beatty uses both. On one hand, he’ll go shopping to see what’s working at his competitor­s. As a small company, Twiga can quickly jump on new trends or something hot. But Twiga is also looking to make more of a direct sales push, getting in front of moms much the way Tupperware does. “We did one in Rosedale for 25 moms, and did $5,000 in sales in four hours,” Beatty says. “I’m networking like crazy to find these moms across North America and do one a week.”
