You’ve probably never heard of Boyuan Construction Group Inc. unless you know your Chinese construction firms, but it’s reportedly one of the top builders of commercial, residential and infrastructure projects in cities such as Hainan, Hunan and Shanghai. It’s headquartered in Jiaxing, but has traded in Toronto since a reverse takeover of TSX-V company SND Energy Ltd. in 2009. It graduated to the main TSX board a year later. The company has more than 5,000 employees and apparently has plans to expand internationally.
Perhaps more interesting, however, are fast-rising high-tech companies Avigilon Corp. (No. 507) and HérouxDevtek Inc. (No. 511). The former is a Vancouver-based manufacturer of video surveillance products, while the latter is a Longueuil, Que.-based aerospace manufacturer that is the third-largest maker of landing gear. Both should comfortably make the big board next year.
