Sexy produce and other social-media gaffes feature in 10 of our “say what?” moments of the year.

Facebook Inc. has apparently become a bit puritanical in its old age as Jackson McLean, manager of Gaze Seed Co. in St. John’s, Nfld., found out in October when the social-media giant censored an advertisement for a bag of onions because it was overtly sexual. The ad showed several onions in a wicker basket as well as a few sliced ones. Must have been the round shape, McLean mused. Facebook eventually relented and allowed the ad.
