Speaking of privacy woes, Cadillac Fairview has nothing on Tim Hortons, whose app was found to be quite the collector of personal data. A months-long investigation by the Financial Post found that the app was logging the location coordinates of a reporter’s phone even when it wasn’t being used, gleaning enough information to figure out where he lived and worked. The coffee and doughnut chain has since modified its privacy information.
