Would-be Windsor video-store robber calls police when clerk attempts retaliation

-

A suspect arrested in the pistol-whipping robbery of a Windsor video store clerk last week called police claiming he was also the victim of a robbery. But police said it appears that the robber in fact got a taste of his own medicine when a clerk grabbed the gun and smacked him. Staff Sgt. Ed McNorton said the suspect called Windsor police Friday night and told them he had been assaulted and robbed of his duffel bag outside a video store. It turned out the duffel bag hed been left behind during the robbery. During the incident, the female store clerk was struck several times on the head with the gun, but escaped from the man, who dropped his bag in the tussle and fled.
