Welcome to the Prairies: a message from Manitoba Premier Gregory Selinger
The provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan are prospering . Not subject to “boom or bust” the prairies are ripe with opportunities for innovation, business development, and career growth.
On behalf of friendly Manitoba, welcome. Whether you are discovering our unique attractions as a visitor, or exploring job opportunities and looking to put down roots, there is something for everyone here in the heart of Canada.

Construction is nearing completion on the Canadian Museum for Human Rights at The Forks, as well as the world’s largest urban polar bear habitat at Assiniboine Park Zoo. A beautiful new home for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at the University of Manitoba has just opened to rave reviews. And with the recent return of our beloved Jets to downtown Winnipeg, don’t miss the chance to experience a game with the most passionate fans in the NHL.

We continue to enjoy one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country. Our GDP growth rate has been the second highest in Canada over the last five years and is expected to remain strong. By taking a balanced approach that invests in critical infrastructure and protects services for families, we will keep growing our economy and create over 100,000 jobs within the next decade.
