The view is awesome — that’s why photographers were on the property for days to take vistas of the lake, says listing agent Sandy Waldie. The photographs were used as a backdrop for the “fake lake” created to give G20 attendees a taste of Canada’s cottage country during the summit held in Toronto in 2010.
The property has 975 feet of water frontage. The mixed shore has a sand-bottom entry to deeper waters, Ms. Waldie says. It’s an “exquisite offering of large shore amidst similarly large landmark shores.”
The “awesome view” was also worth moving for — a four-season log cabin was relocated, complete with its original floor, to the site in 1999. The cabin was built in 1856 of hand-hewn squared hemlock and was moved from Palmerston, north of Guelph, she says. “It is most unique, rare in that it is a vertical log not horizontal. The ceilings are much higher and it is more light-filled.”
The four-bedroom, twobathroom cabin has reclaimed red pine floors, a floor-toceiling Muskoka stone fireplace, a solid granite mantel and custom cabinetry. The 2,500-square-foot cabin has 10-foot ceilings in the kitchen.
The property has lands suitable for severance and space for a tennis court. Listing Broker: Chestnut Park Real Estate Ltd. (Sandy Waldie)
