Another quick economics lesson
Re: A Quick Economics Primer For Thomas Mulcair, letter to the editor, Oct. 8. Surely corporations are a legal factual creation ( just like money!) not a fiction. They have the same rights and responsibilities as a person. To paraphrase a sentence in the letter: “every tax on [an individual] is in reality a … tax [partially] imposed on corporations.”
Thomas Mulclair’s support for increases for corporate taxes is a restoration to previous levels. Maybe, as pseudo-persons, corporations should also be treated tax-wise with a scale of step-up in marginal rates according to their taxable incomes.
