HAVE SOME FUN AND OTHER ADVICE FOR SUCCESSFUL KIDS’ ROOM MAKEOVERS

-

When it comes to painting a kid’s room, there are a number of factors to consider when choosing a colour, and Martin Tustin-Fuchs, brand manager of Dulux paints, has some advice for parents. Among the tips: 1) Involve the kids: When kids take ownership of a project, they are more vested in the outcome. Also, they’ll be spending a lot of time there. 2) Plan for growth: Make sure the colours you pick will mature with your kids. For example, dusty rose will have more staying power than bright pink. 3) Think “off the wall”: Try creating fun-looking walls or paint one wall with a mural. 4) Keep it washable, with a durable paint. “It’s important to recognize that trends come and go, so plan for the long term and opt for colours that best suit your child’s personality,” Mr. Tustin-Fuchs says.
