Merc aims for style with substance
Mercedes-AMG GT
The first Mercedes was a racing car and its most recent successor carries this heritage forward.
With the new Mercedes-AMG GT, the Mercedes-AMG sports car brand is moving into a new sports car segment. The GT is the second sports car developed entirely inhouse by Mercedes-AMG.
Its front mid-engine design with a rear transaxle and use of intelligent aluminum lightweight construction form the basis for a highly dynamic driving experience. Its newly developed AMG 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo engine underscores the hallmark AMG driving performance. The first sports car engine with internally mounted turbochargers (“hot inside V”) and dry sump lubrication is configured in two output ratings: as a GT with 456 hp and as a GT S with 503 hp. The new GT combines driving dynamics and first-class racetrack performance with superb everyday practicality and efficiency that sets new standards in the segment.
The Mercedes-AMG GT will launch in the Canadian market in the spring of 2015.
Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe
The new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is a dynamic new perspective on style with substance. It pushes the longstanding coupe tradition of Mercedes-Benz to new heights, with sensual lines, a stretched greenhouse and striking front grille combined with SUV characteristics such as muscular shapes, large wheel arches and a high belt line.
The GLE Coupe will be available as a diesel or gasoline model with an output range of 255 hp and 362 hp. The GLE 450 AMG Coupe, the first iteration of the new AMG sports models product line, will offer the Dynamic Select dynamic handling control system, the Sports Direct-Steer system and the driver assistance systems typical of the brand. It will also be equipped with a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic permanent all-wheel drive.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe has been available in dealerships across Canada since the fall of 2014.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class
From the family of the S-Class comes a new level of handcrafted refinement, personalization and prestige. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class fuses the luxury of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class with the exclusivity of Maybach. The market launch of the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 is scheduled for this spring.
Its V12 biturbo engine has an output of 523 hp. With a displacement of 5,980 cc, the maximum torque of 612 lb.-ft. is available from 1,900 rpm. At 5,453 mm long and with a wheelbase of 3,365 mm, the Mercedes-Maybach is 20 cm larger in both dimensions than the S-Class Sedan with long wheelbase. Rear passengers benefit from this increased size as well as from standard equipment that includes executive seats on both left and right and other exclusive details such as innovative voice amplification.
In the rear, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is also the world’s quietest production sedan.
