It’s rude to stare, but visitors to this Bridle Path home can’t help themselves. They make their way down the backyard foot path and gaze out on to treetops, the seventh hole of a golf course and Teddington Park beyond. And they’d stand and stare for a day, says listing agent Jim Warren of Chestnut Park Real Estate. “The view is jaw-dropping. People come to see the house because it overlooks the Rosedale Golf Club.”

Golf aficionados hear the satisfying click as club meets ball, he says. People who love nature take in the fresh air and relax. Seeing deer and fox just outside the fenced lot is not unusual.

The owner loves to sit in the backyard with her dogs, Warren says. The gracious yard has a pool and a walk- way lined with planters. Large trees along the side property lines provide privacy.

Inside, the brick-and-limestone Georgian-style home has a two-storey rotunda and a curved staircase made for grand entrances on a prom night or wedding day.

Cooking for large occasions, such as Thanksgiving, is done by staff in the second kitchen, on the lower level. Meals are then carried upstairs to the good-sized dining room, Warren says.

The main kitchen overlooks the family room. Two covered verandas, one off the dining room and the other off the family room, provide shady outdoor spaces for relaxing.

Warren especially likes the panelled living room. “It’s clubby and warm,” he says.

The master suite has a walk- out to a large balcony with amazing backyard views. A walk-in closet has glass-front doors to make finding clothes a breeze.

The lower level has a wine cellar, a media room, an exercise room, a nanny’s suite and a sauna. “You’re enveloped. You don’t ever have to leave the house,” Warren says. However, when you want to, the Granite Club is just minutes away.

Despite its grandeur, it’s a casual family home (“it’s not overwhelmingly big”), he says. It’s been perfect for the owners, their three children and two dogs.

Stone floors are heated for comfort. The house is fully loaded and fully tailored, he says. “No corners have been cut on this bespoke interior. It’s a happy house.”
