THREE ATTACKS ON THREE CONTINENTS
Terrorists killed civilians in Tunisia, France and Kuwait on Friday in nearly simultaneous attacks. While ISIL claimed responsibility for the Kuwait mosque
bombing, it was not clear if the three were linked or co-ordinated.
HOTEL RIU IMPERIAL MARHABA, SOUSSE, TUNISIA — NOON LOCAL TIME
1. A gunman pulls a Kalashnikov out from under a parasol on the beach near the Hotel Riu Imperial Marhaba in Sousse and opens fire on tourists.
2. A British tourist staying at a nearby resort described a mass exodus from the beach, as vacationers fled. At least 39 people, mostly tourists, are killed. The Imperial Marhaba had 565 guests, mostly from the U.K. and Europe.
3. According to The Guardian newspaper and Reuters, the gunman then made his way toward the hotel via the pool area. One report said he detonated an explosive, possibly a grenade, before being killed in an exchange of gunfire with security.
