A LOT TO GET LOST ON

Ravine-side home offers (much) more land than you’d expect.

- By Connie Adair

‘At 88x283 feet, with a vast majority being tableland, this east-facing ravine lot has mature hedges lining both sides of the garden and a lush canopy of trees toward the ravine, producing ideal skinny-dipping conditions in the 18x38-ft. concrete pool,” says listing agent Stephen Milic.

“The incredibly private country-like feel is what I like. It’s a family area in a great location — a 10-minute walk to the York Mills subway, proximity to Yonge and Avenue Road shopping, great access to the highway and a great community feel.”

It’s not often that a lot this size comes up for sale, he says. “In the past two years, only eight properties have sold on MLS that are greater than 80 feet wide and more than 240 feet deep in the area from Avenue Road to Bay- view Avenue and Highway 401 to Eglinton.”

The home was completely renovated in 2007 and has a good flow and views of the garden. The open-concept main floor has a chef’s quality kitchen as its hub. It’s perfect for preparing food for a casual summer party or for more formal entertaining, Milic says. It has a 14-foot island with a raised bar that cleverly hides kitchen mess.

An inviting entry sets the tone for the casual-yet-chic home. The light-filled living/ dining room has extra-wide sliding doors leading to the stone patio and landscaped grounds. “The dining room is a great spot to gaze out over the grounds, whether it is over a formal meal, a quick bite or while working on the laptop,” he says.

The main-floor laundry/ mud/catch-all room is perfect for an active family.

In-ceiling speakers fill the master bedroom with the owners’ favourite tunes. The six-piece ensuite bathroom is a serene retreat that includes an open-concept rain shower. An oversize walk-in dressing room has space for him and for her.

A live-in nanny, in-laws or a teenager will love the separate lower-level suite. It has its own entrance.

The property has parking for all your cars, Milic says. “There are two large indoor spaces and room for 10-plus cars in the driveway. Another highlight is the flat area between the pergola and the ravine. It offers an intimate area to read in one of the hammocks or to roast marshmallows around the bonfire.”

?? ?? The property is 88 feet wide and 283 feet deep, which allows for a large multi-purpose backyard.
