Back to Square One
Celebrating the shopping spot’s new luxury wing
Tastemakers and celebutantes trickled back into town from their summer holidays, just in time for Natasha Koifman’s countdown to the Toronto International Film Festival. The PR specialista and gal about town welcomed VIPs to her home for the first proper party of the upcoming season. It was a shopping destination, Square One, that was the talk of the party, in anticipation of the opening of its luxury wing. The Fall/Winter 15 campaign was on display, featuring international style star Julia Restoin Roitfeld, who was not at Koifman’s home in person, but life-size photos by famed shutterbug Sohpie Elgort, helped to set the tone. Speaking of famous photogs, both David Drebin and Caitlin Cronenberg made the sceney-scene. What a treat!
Revelers enjoyed performances by Slaight music star Theo Tams and DJ Lissa Monet kept things rocking
and rolling. Delicious bites from Gusto 54 Catering kept the crowd satiated as they partied poolside amongst black and white balloon sculptures styled by the brilliant Caspar
Hayden. Not only was the campaign eye-catching, but so was the magnificent crowd and inspired decor!
It may have been a Tuesday night with summer holidays coming to an end, but the mood at the sixth annual “La Piscine Party” featuring fashions by Greta Constantine was anything but drab. The sprawling garden of
Michael and Krystal Cooper was transformed with a hedge maze spotted with topiary balls. Ebony mannequins, inspired by fashion illustrations were sprinkled around the garden and were draped, tucked, pleated and sculpted in black silk wool, microfiber, and lace from the Greta Constantine Spring/ Summer 2016 collection. The Apothic Wine was flowing, paired with bites from chef
Christine Vynal. Highlights included the celery boat with whipped brandade, speckled with caviar to the brie crostini with fig jam over a shot glass of cherry French beer. Bestdressed guests were treated to a pair of performances from Opera Atelier’s upcoming 30th Anniversary Season. Soprano Meghan Lindsay and dancer Elizabeth Kalashnikova delighted with excerpts from Opera Atelier’s production of the French Baroque masterpiece Armide, which will tour to the Palace of Versailles in the fall following its Toronto dates. Piscine was truly a party that tickled all the senses!
